We are raising money for ongoing support of Quran Project.

Why Donation?

We want to make Quran available in all the languages and to make available everywhere and anywhere in the world for free. we want to provide Quran in many other devices like microsoft touch, iphone, ipad, desktop (offline) and in latest new technologies. There are some devices that already has Quran app’s, but they lack from rich features or it cost users to use them, so that’s why we want to make applications with rich features and make it available to everyone for no cost (free).

 

Quick Current Statistics

  • 2011 Ramadan with 2.0 version & older was over 500,000+ views (just one month statistic)
  • We have Over 400,000+ audio files.
  • Pending: once we get new server, we can easily deploy over 2 million audio files.
  • 100+ Quran Text and Translation Text
  • We are first site that have audio translations in urdu, chines, french, farsi and english in ayah by ayah. (30+ more audio translations are pending – due to lack of resources)

 

Server Cost

Currently we have server’s that are shared servers and we cannot upload more audios on it or any other resources. We want to upload more audio translations in ayah by ayah and also have download area for surah by surah. The server we want to get for Quran project are the servers used by top sites for there media content (ex: youtube, facebook, myspace, yahoo video…). The server we want to get is fast, reliable and has 1 audio files into many other server around the world, so user gets there file served very quickly and start streaming instantly. The cost of the server is expensive, but its worth it. If all the big sites spending lots of money for putting haram content, why cant we spend some money for putting halal content.

Server we want to use & price for server is on rackspace

Quick Estimate: $200 to $400 per month (it goes more, depending on outgoing bandwidth and space we are using).


Development Cost

We obviously cant do it alone, there are so many devices and so many coming more in feature, we would need professional developers help building Quran application for thous devices. It takes lots of time for developer to build one application for single device and then he needs to keep it up-to-date. That’s why we need to pay thous developers for there time and effort on the project. sometimes we would just need some people (volunteer or paid) to help us split quran audio files or help us extract data.

after or before it gets done from developer, we would go with designer to make it pretty and easy to use interface.
